Oil on X-ray
The artwork is supplied unframed
Another fascinating work of art in which oil paint has been applied to an X-ray image. It depicts a full-body X-ray image over which a broad, vibrant trail of oil paint in a variety of colours – including red, yellow and blue – has been drawn from top to bottom. The colours almost seem to flow, creating a powerful sense of movement within the image. The reflective effect on the surface suggests that the artwork is framed behind glass. The silhouette of a person can be made out in the reflection of the glass, introducing an additional layer of interpretation and emphasising the interaction between the viewer and the artwork. The work is set in a white frame and positioned against a delicate, lavender-coloured background, which further enhances the intensity of the artwork.
