Oil on X-rays
The artwork establishes an interesting link between medicine and art by using X-ray images as a background. These images show various sizes of circular and oval shapes that could be reminiscent of human body parts or organs, thereby creating a structured, repetitive yet organic basis for the picture. A striking, vertical structure of blue paint flows across this clinical, almost monochrome background; with its random and dynamic nature, it breaks up the austere rhythm of the X-ray images. The shades of blue stand out clearly against the grey tones of the background, bringing a vibrant and almost raw energy to the composition.
