This work is based on the analysis and reinterpretation of historical diagnostic images from psychiatric institutions. “2034108 I” depicts a group of figures whose physiognomy is gradually dissolving – towards a chimeric fusion of human form, delusion and deformation. The composition is reminiscent of classic tattoo sheets: without spatial depth, but with a clearer iconographic order. The designation “2034108” is a fictitious number used for the psychiatric classification of patients and points to a systematic categorisation. In this series, the system is disrupted; what is depicted eludes categorisation, and the individual elements remain ambivalent, straddling the boundaries between science, superstition and the aesthetics of horror.

Prof.Her works feature figures who are in a state of transformation. Themes such as pathologisation, family dynamics and states of psychological distress form the backdrop to many of her works. Alongside these, she creates landscape paintings – often nocturnal or atmospherically dense scenes – which serve as quiet counterpoints to her figurative works.
