‘Amira Galerie_Sonnenallee’ is one of the early works in the series and was inspired by night-time observations along Sonnenallee. The shop window appears both open and inaccessible. Light, reflections and decorative objects seem almost to detach themselves from the real space.
What initially interested me most about these shopfronts was the feeling of looking in from the outside at something that seems both familiar and alien. The paintings were often created during or after bus journeys along the street. The act of passing by became part of the experience itself.
The works in this series oscillate between a documented environment and an inner image. Shop windows thus become projection surfaces for memory, longing and connection. The distance created by the glass remains ever-present.
Like all the works in the series, this picture was also painted on a piece of fabric sourced from the area around Sonnenallee.

The work will be shipped stretched on a stretcher frame – including a certificate of authenticity and a signature on the reverse.

Painting
Her painting springs from spontaneous emotion, offering scope for experimentation and the pure joy of creative expression. Whilst academic art education often tends to suppress or conceptualise this authenticity, she carefully preserves it in her painting.
Her creative space allows her to transcend boundaries and make room for the unexpected, resulting in series in which she captures friends and colleagues in various depictions. During the Covid-19 crisis, she also portrayed her neighbourhood, ranging from unaffordable flats to the socially deprived area of Kottbusser Tor.
Her art extends beyond realistic scenes to include depictions of dreams on a surreal level, forming a creative bridge to her sculptural works.

sculptures are an expression of her artistic vision, which focuses on viewing the human being as an architectural structure. Inspired by her childhood fascination with her ancestors’ doll’s house, every room in this metaphorical house symbolises a unique facet of human character. She sees this complex doll’s house within every individual, representing the multi-layered nature of emotions and experiences. Her art explores the significance of self-awareness and delves into the unconscious microcosm that encompasses dreams and the vast world of the subconscious. Through her sculptures, Augart seeks to play with these elements from dreams and to build a bridge between dream and reality.
