"Apt.#47 | Enrika in her Studio" is a work from a series in which I portray friends and colleagues from the Berlin art scene. Enrika Myskovskaja is a musician from Lithuania who lives and works in Berlin. Together, we developed a performance entitled "Apt.#47", in which Enrika has built various microphones (visible in the picture as objects with large receiver dishes) that make the ultrasonic sounds of the fridge, the faint vibrations of a fan or the hum of a desk lamp audible. In this way, the performance “Apt.#47” explores our personal soundscape, to which we pay far too little attention, other than simply trying to shield ourselves from disturbing noises. In this performance, I used these microphones to amplify and alter the sounds of everyday objects that surround us. In this way, she draws attention to the fact that we could seize the opportunity to consciously shape our soundscape.
The painting “Apt.#47 | Enrika in her Studio” depicts Enrika at work and attempts to capture her process of listening within our everyday living spaces.

Painting
Her painting springs from spontaneous emotion, offering scope for experimentation and the pure joy of creative expression. Whilst academic art education often tends to suppress or conceptualise this authenticity, she carefully preserves it in her painting.
Her creative space allows her to transcend boundaries and make room for the unexpected, resulting in series in which she captures friends and colleagues in various depictions. During the Covid-19 crisis, she also portrayed her neighbourhood, ranging from unaffordable flats to the socially deprived area of Kottbusser Tor.
Her art extends beyond realistic scenes to include depictions of dreams on a surreal level, forming a creative bridge to her sculptural works.

art’s
sculptures are an expression of her artistic vision, which focuses on viewing the human being as an architectural structure. Inspired by her childhood fascination with her ancestors’ doll’s house, every room in this metaphorical house symbolises a unique facet of human character. She sees this complex doll’s house within every individual, representing the multi-layered nature of emotions and experiences. Her art explores the significance of self-awareness and delves into the unconscious microcosm that encompasses dreams and the vast world of the subconscious. Through her sculptures, Augart seeks to play with these elements from dreams and to build a bridge between dream and reality.
