For the past three years, I have been exploring the aesthetic impact of line (and point) within autonomous drawing. In doing so, I follow rules I have devised myself, incorporate chance and self-determination as means of visual composition, and continually re-examine the concept of artistic freedom.
This gives rise to areas of tension between boundaries and freedom, chaos and order, dynamic aesthetics and unease, and emptiness and fullness. I discovered the significance of these tensions, particularly in relation to modern societies, whilst creating TWENTY BLACK LINES, the series to which this work also belongs. Thus, this work and the entire series posed the following questions to me and to the viewer: How should one deal with mistakes, irregularities and peculiarities – ignore them, change them, adapt them or incorporate them? Or, more generally: How can and should social life be shaped? How can social dynamics emerge?

She is currently studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Drawing under Frank Gillich at the University of Osnabrück and works as a freelance artist, art educator, art teacher and curator.
