Entstehungsjahr: 2023
Bismarckbrötchen gehört in meine Heimatserie, denn es war und ist mein absolutes Lieblingsfischbrötchen und Begleiter meiner Jugend und Erwachsenwerdens. Es ist Erinnerung an Rostock und die Küste, die salzige Luft und die Zeitepoche als junge Frau.
Diese Zeit ist wie bei so vielen geprägt durch den Prozess des Suchens, eine Suche nach Perspektiven, Identität, Zukunftsaussichten, ein Ausprobieren, intensiven Erfahrungen und Treibenlassen.
So erscheint die Meerjungfrau im Bismarckbrötchen sich zwischen Ergebenheit und Sinnlichkeit zu befinden – in Erwartung des Verspeistwerdens.
Die Farben von Bismarckbrötchen sind realitätsnah gewählt, spiegeln die nordische Atmosphäre mit seiner Kühle und Frische. Unschärfe rücken bestimmte Teile in ihrer Bedeutung etwas nach hinten, während die Schärfe sie nach vorne zu holen scheint.
Die Meerjungfrau stammt aus der Welt meiner Tochter, und ist doch die perfekte Protagonistin als Medium, welches weibliche Figur und Fisch verbindet.

Her works have been represented by SKM since early 2022.
She works with oil paint on canvas and also explores other artistic fields through small objects and her voice.
Through oil painting, she captures the emotional reality of a moment on canvas.
She uses the play of light, surface qualities and spatial relationships to convey the intimacy of the moment and the connection between the subjects.
Inspired by her personal connections, her works create spaces for reflection on emotionality, distance and touch.
