For me, this dynamic acrylic painting on sturdy, handmade paper is an expression of pure energy and spontaneous gesture. Using bold shades of red and green, I have created a lively, almost organic atmosphere, which I have deliberately broken up with deep shades of black. A luminous, vibrant yellow dominates the composition, drawing the eye and creating a central tension. The visible brushstrokes and flowing drips of paint bear witness to my intuitive creative process and lend the work a raw, expressive quality.

. My work arises from a direct, physical engagement with the material. The gesture is central – impulsive, powerful, often spontaneous. Traces such as scratches, colour gradients, overlays and raw edges are deliberately left visible and form an integral part of the picture. The painting process is open-ended, process-oriented and follows no fixed plan. Decisions are made in the moment of movement. In the process, spaces emerge on the canvas or paper that have little to do with classical three-dimensionality. They are mental spaces between eruption and contemplation, between concentration and spontaneity. For me, imperfection is an essential part of the process – it embodies the truth of the process.
My painting
has now moved beyond the two-dimensional plane. I am increasingly working with objects and forms in space. In doing so, I apply painterly principles to other materials – colour becomes physical, movement becomes volume. This gives rise to sculptural works in which gesture, materiality and space come together in new ways.
