This work tells a story of growth under difficult conditions. The flowers symbolise us as human beings – our ability to grow, to flourish and to bring forth beauty, even when circumstances are far from ideal.
The flowers are not growing out of a vase, but out of an oil canister. An object that actually has nothing to do with life or nature. It represents an environment that is not designed to bring forth anything delicate or living. The table beneath it also appears fragile and unstable – a metaphor for the insecurity or lack of a solid foundation with which some people grow up.
And yet the flowers bloom.
They grow, stretch upwards and unfurl their colours. These blossoms symbolise the power of relationships: friends, family and the people who love us. It is they who give us support, strengthen us and help us to grow – even when the ground on which we stand does not seem suited to it.
The artwork serves as a reminder that our background and circumstances do not alone determine how we develop. With support, affection and mutual strength, beauty and life can emerge even where one might not initially expect it.
Because sometimes all it takes is people who believe in us so that we – despite everything – can blossom. ?

I work intuitively – my paintings take shape in the moment, driven by my feelings. Colours, shapes and lines flow onto the canvas without any plan. I love the playful and the spontaneous. This often results in vibrant, colourful works that have a childlike quality – carefree, open and warm-hearted.
My art is meant to move people, but not overwhelm them. I want to bring a smile to the viewer’s face, a feeling of warmth and comfort. Perhaps to bring back a little lightness to an often noisy, complicated world.
As well as painting, I also work with analogue photography – a conscious focus on small, genuine moments. I capture simple, everyday situations that are usually overlooked. For me, art is a place where I am free – and that is exactly what I want to convey.
