Description

Das Werk besteht aus zwei Leinwänden, die miteinander in Kommunikation treten. Die aus den Bildrändern herausführenden Formen links und rechts werden auf der jeweils anderen Leinwand fortgeführt. Die nicht bemalten Hälften der beiden Leinwände repräsentieren die fehlenden Ergänzungen auf dem jeweils anderen Bild. Schließlich werden die unbemalten Hälften zusammen mit der dahinterliegenden Wand zu einem eigenen, ungegenständlichen Werk, inspiriert von abstrakten Expressionisten, wie Ad Rheinhardt und Mark Rothko.

Beide Leinwände messen je 110 x 90 cm.

Phillip Urban

My name is Phillip Urban and I am studying at the Kassel Art Academy under the tutelage of Johannes Spehr.

Having completed my teacher training in art

I am now pursuing a degree in fine art.

In my work, I explore visual perception, the duration of perception and the sequence of perception. The focus is on the viewer’s role in completing the artwork. The abstract forms and barely visible contours are intended to invite reflection, association and movement in front of the work.
