Material: diluted acrylic paint on raw cotton fabric
(this is not a white canvas)
Year created: 2024
-One-of-a-kind-
For my paintings, I use diluted – and therefore transparent – acrylic paints, which I apply to untreated cotton fabric. To do this, I pour the paints, using brushes and my hands. The abstract forms arise from my desire for a tactile experience and from my reactions to the material itself. As I only check the final dimensions of the works
dimensions, a certain element of chance also plays a part. Between the application of individual layers of paint, there are extended drying periods during which the colours sometimes change again in terms of their form and hue. The creative process remains visible, as the translucent layers of paint together form the composition. I draw on the aesthetics of everything that is present, thereby emphasising the significance of the fleeting moment.
All works are signed and titled on the reverse and are dispatched with a certificate of authenticity. All works are delivered stretched on canvas.

In my art, I explore the theme of presence in the sense of consciously perceived presence and immediacy. For me, my art is about paying attention to inner impulses and following my intuition. As my works are inspired by transience and the power of the moment, I often work in silence and see my artistic practice as a form of meditation. I aim to help viewers become more aware of themselves and the value of the moment in a hectic world, and to create an artistic space of possibility where one can pause for a moment and focus on the here and now.
