Oil pastels, chalk pencil, pencil and acrylic on paper
Year created: 2023
signed on the reverse
This work emerged as a further development of some of my own pieces from recent years. These works and the technique used in them evolved from an exploration of the content of George Perec’s book *Espèces d’espaces*. Perec’s precise working method corresponds to the principle of an algorithm and is taken up here.
Please note: As can be seen in the photographs, the sheet of paper is not entirely smooth due to the intensive treatment it has undergone. Furthermore, the oil pastels have been applied more thickly due to the intense brushwork.
Elisabeth Scale
Her works consistently reveal a high degree of precision and dedication to her artistic practice. Recurring motifs include lines and strong contrasts.
Elisabeth Scale is studying for a Master’s degree in Art at the University of Potsdam, but lives and works in Berlin.
