In her SBR series, Eva Lause uses her characteristic drawing technique to deconstruct the colour composition down to its essentials. The reduced colour palette of black, blue and red is transformed into a complex expanse of colour through the superimposition of numerous layers. The resulting colour scheme is not static, but is in a constant state of flux. The works seem to breathe, to pulsate. The illusion of depth and the optical movement create a dialogue between the picture plane and the viewer.
The artwork is dispatched with the 3D object frame (real glass) shown in the image.
Eva Lause
She is currently studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Drawing under Frank Gillich at the University of Osnabrück and works as a freelance artist, art educator, art teacher and curator.
