Entstehungsjahr: 2023
Schwerin ist eine Erinnerung meiner zweiten Heimatstadt, basierend auf einem realen Erlebnis – es liegt in der Vergangenheit. Und doch ist das Sujet so aktuell.
In Anbetracht der Bedrohung unserer Gesellschaft von rechts schuf ich dieses Bild. In Zeiten, wo gesellschaftsfeindliche Parolen leider wieder populär werden, ist mein Mittel die Kunst – das Zeigen, das Spürenlassen.
Vor der malerischen Kulisse Schwerins spielt die Szene und steht für alle wunderschönen Orte des Ostens und den Menschen die sie dazu machen.
Mein Protagonist, gemalt in Unschärfe, wird gefragt, warum? Warum ist deine Einstellung die deine? Warum ist deine Handlung die deine? Warum ich?
Schärfe, Konzentration auf die Bildmitte und Unschärfe bestimmen die Maltechnik und sollen den Fokus setzen. Die Ölfarben sind gedeckt gewählt, die Sonne scheint an diesem Tag durch die Wolkendecke und wirft ein warmes Licht auf das Gesicht des Portträtierten.
Er bleibt mir in Erinnerung – und besonders, weil das Licht der Zeit seine Haltung hat ändern lassen. Für mich die schönste Dimension an Schwerin.
Wir brauchen mehr Licht.

Her works have been represented by SKM since early 2022.
She works with oil paint on canvas and also explores other artistic fields through small objects and her voice.
Through oil painting, she captures the emotional reality of a moment on canvas.
She uses the play of light, surface qualities and spatial relationships to convey the intimacy of the moment and the connection between the subjects.
Inspired by her personal connections, her works create spaces for reflection on emotionality, distance and touch.
