Dieser Automat hat mich in der Schule stets vor die schwierige Entscheidung gestellt, ob ich lieber ein grünes Balisto oder ein Snickers nehmen solle? Natürlich Beides!... aber oft aus freundschaftlichen Gründen entschied man sich für Twix oder m&ms, wenn es um die gesamte letzte Reihe ging, um die Rückschläge der letzten Schulaufgaben zu verdauen und vor dem Gespräch mit den Eltern noch etwas Schönes erlebt zu haben.

Der m&m Automat wirkt wie eine Plastik oder Skulptur, ist aber eine klassische Malerei auf Leinwand nur mit sehr dicken Keilrahmen und ist auf der Rückseite offen. Mit der Automaten Serie verfolge ich die Schnittstelle zwischen Objekt und Malerei. Ab welcher Keilrahmenstärke oder - tiefe wird es zum Objekt, obwohl es Malerei ist?

Darüberhinaus ist es im Notfall immer gut, ein paar Snacks vorrätig zu haben.

Toninho Dingl

Born in 1988 in Burghausen; studied Geography (BSc) and “Geographies of Uneven Development” (MSc.) at Paris-Lodron University in Salzburg, as well as ‘Painting and Graphic Art’ (Diploma) under Prof. Franz Ackermann at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe.

Successfully completed his art diploma in Karlsruhe in 2022.
