Ishtas Gate
Oil on canvas
In ‘Ishtas Gate’, a quiet, atmospheric space opens up between density and dissolution. Delicate veils of colour in cool shades of blue and grey permeate the canvas, interspersed with subtle traces of green and purple that appear to be the traces of a creative process. The work evokes the sensation of looking through a floating threshold – a transition between the visible and the invisible, between matter and light.
The title refers to a mythical gate that can be interpreted as a symbol of insight and transformation. *Ishtas Gate* is part of the ongoing *SPACE* series and has been shown in several exhibitions, including in Dresden, Berlin and Prague. With its poetic openness, the work invites the viewer to surrender to the indeterminate – to the point where perception begins to question itself.
