Space: The Spring
Oil on canvas
In ‘Space: The Spring’, a spherical landscape of colour unfolds, poised between dissolution and emergence. Luminous, iridescent shades of green, pink and blue interweave to form an atmospheric composition reminiscent of the moment when light and matter rearrange themselves in spring. The painting eschews clear forms – instead, it creates a space that feels both boundless and intimate, like a breathing universe of colour.
The work was most recently on display in Prague at the Jilská 14 Gallery, where it was presented as part of the SPACE series. In this series, Chris Schröder explores the interplay between light, perception and emotion. ‘Space: The Spring’ invites us to understand seeing itself as a constant process of becoming – as a springtime of perception.
