Info: The diptych depicts a scene in which forms emerge from the mist, here and there bathed in vivid colour, whilst elsewhere they transform into something entirely different or dissolve like a sugar cube in tea. Inspired by the works of early Surrealists, the shifting form thus comes to represent the vagueness of a dream.
Leyla Jalili
Leyla Jalili is studying art at the University of Osnabrück. Her main area of work is oil and acrylic painting on large-format canvases. Stylistically, her delicate brushwork and focus on the interplay of light and shadow are particularly noteworthy. In her studio, the artist creates both naturalistic depictions and abstract works on canvas. She captures motifs for her paintings, as well as for her prints and drawings, through photographs and quick sketches that she takes whilst travelling or in her everyday life.
