This artwork operates at the intersection of digital design and physical manifestation. It explores the convergence of technology, materiality and social symbolism.
The assemblage is first created in virtual space – a composition of digital artefacts whose irregularities are not corrected but deliberately preserved. It is only through the 3D printing process that these objects materialise and reveal their unique aesthetic vocabulary: the low print resolution is used here not as a technical flaw, but as a conceptual means of highlighting the fragility of digital perfection.
The work takes as its starting point a model of a weapon freely available on the internet – an object that symbolises power, control and the ambivalence of technological democratisation. The transformation of this model through the artistic process raises questions about the interplay between digital reproducibility, material appropriation and the social implications of new production methods.
Is 3D printing a form of artistic emancipation or a critical reflection on the dissolution of traditional boundaries of production?
What does authenticity mean in an era in which digital templates can be reproduced infinitely?
Through its inherent imperfection, the artwork opens up a discourse on the aesthetics of the fragmentary, the materialisation of the digital and the ethical dimensions of technological accessibility.
