Unglazed ceramic: 2025
The piece was left outdoors for some time to acquire a natural patina. During a frost, the absorbed water expanded and caused three fingers to break off. The hand remained open for some time and has now been mended using the kintsugi method. The result is a pattern reminiscent of three golden rings, or a delicate golden knuckle duster. The veins on the back of the hand suggest advanced age, whilst the outstretched index finger appears like a warning or an accusation.
Placed on the ground, the hand looks as though it is reaching out from the grave, appearing more humorous than menacing. It is as if an aunt who died years ago were reminding us of the long-overdue hedge trimming. What else are the neighbours supposed to think?

subjects are as diverse as life itself. From Surrealism and Romanticism to abstract paintings and figurative ceramics, I am constantly struck by new ideas that gradually take shape in reality.
