Sebastian Lorenz

Sebastian Lorenz was born in Bad-Cannstatt in 1991 and grew up in Waiblingen-Beinstein. Whilst at school, he attended various drawing courses at the “Kunstschule Unteres Remstal” in Waiblingen. There, he developed his passion for painting and drawing and eventually decided to study art at the “Freie Kunstschule Stuttgart”. This was followed by a degree in art education at the “Akademie der bildenden Künste Stuttgart”.

Sebastian Lorenz’s paintings are characterised by colourful and richly detailed depictions. He shows a keen interest in the human figure and often places it at the centre of his works. The people depicted are usually shown on the move or pausing briefly. Lorenz’s painting combines a realistic depiction of human anatomy with an emotional and expressive rendering of the figures portrayed. His works are often characterised by a certain melancholy and intensity, as he succeeds in portraying the feelings and moods of his figures in a striking manner. Through precise brushwork and the deliberate use of light and shadow, he also succeeds in creating a remarkable sense of depth in his paintings, which immerses the viewer in a captivating world.
