The artwork will be shipped stretched onto a stretcher frame – including a certificate of authenticity and the artist’s signature on the reverse.
In my work, I explore everyday scenes and objects, which I place in a new context through surrealist distortions. In this piece, an ordinary washbasin begins to melt, thereby developing a new, unfamiliar materiality. In doing so, I play with the perception of solid and liquid states and explore how materials can change and merge into one another. I am particularly interested in the technical challenge of depicting these flowing forms and different materialities as realistically as possible.
