Where and what are you studying?

I’m studying at Alanus University and doing my Master’s in oil painting under Prof. Andreas Orosz.

What are you currently working on?

Since mid-September 2023, I have been painting one small picture every day for 100 consecutive days and documenting them in diary form, which will end at Christmas. At the moment, I’m organising the records of each artwork and using them as inspiration for an oil painting.

What materials and techniques do you prefer to work with?

I enjoy sketching, but I prefer the texture of oil painting. I like to thin the oil paint and build it up in layers to achieve the texture I prefer.

What was the last exhibition that inspired you?

In November 2023, the annual international art fair “Art Cologne” took place in Cologne, one of the oldest modern and contemporary art exhibitions in the world. At this fair, I saw various types and styles of modern and contemporary artworks, as well as galleries and art lovers from all over the world.

Which themes are particularly important in your work?

Everyday life and natural landscapes. What themes are you currently exploring? Most of the news I’ve been reading lately is about nuclear contamination and so on. Elements of nature often feature in your work – what does that mean to you? In my creative process, I tend to express subtle and sensitive emotions or feelings. Gentle, unspoilt nature indirectly conveys the mood I feel in my heart, as opposed to harsh buildings or the obvious movements of people.

How would you describe your colour palette?

Very clean.

Where do you paint?

 Usually at home.

How would you describe your style?

 Gentle, delicate and harmonious.

What do you get up to outside your studies?

I occasionally go out with friends or visit other towns, and I also work in my spare time.

How did you get involved with the Student Art Market and what has been your experience?

I got involved through friends. It’s important to prepare packaging materials in advance, otherwise the packing process can become problematic.

Have you had any particular experiences with a customer?

A gentleman commissions various artists or friends to paint a picture of his house every few years. In previous years, there have been sketches and oil paintings; although the main subject in every picture is the same house, each artist’s style of representation is very different.

Is there anything else you’d like to share or tell us?

Mastering the fine control and use of the brush, step by step, allows the brush to freely paint whatever I wish to paint. This process has taken a great deal of time and effort, but I am glad that I was able to create these paintings, and these paintings have also shaped me.
