 Hyle Gallery, Hamburg

Hyle is a Greek word meaning ‘matter’ or ‘substance’. This space is that matter, and it is now time to fill it. Time and again. The aim is to create a place where young and contemporary art can find its home. What exactly is emerging right now? This is where the enthusiasm for colours, shapes, surfaces and compositions comes to life.

Art is the only thing we can still do freely in today’s world. Art means courage, joy, anguish, searching, doubt, ecstasy and fulfilment. I want to create a space that provides a setting for all of this – a stage, a window, a chamber – which you enter and from which you emerge enriched with inspiration, questions and new encounters. The concept is aimed at anyone interested in helping to shape this world and this space. A visual decision is an action, a mark, a consequence. A place in the heart of Hamburg to drop by, have a look, linger and discuss. Ask questions. Perhaps you’ll find the image here that moves you.

Congratulations to Lucia Kaufmann on the opening of Galerie Hyle! –  A bold step  into the art world, and we are delighted to have been collaborating with Hyle more or less  from day one. Through close dialogue and consultation with Lucia Kaufmann, selected art students are given the opportunity to exhibit their work here.  This collaboration is particularly valuable to us, as it fosters creative exchange and brings art out of the virtual space and into the ‘real’ world. We are more than excited about the upcoming projects we will be able to realise in collaboration with Hyle, and we would like to thank them for their openness and for this opportunity!
