Every month, we select an artist as our Artist of the Month. But what does that actually mean, and how is it decided?

Studying art naturally always carries a certain amount of risk, and there is no guarantee of success. If you’re looking to invest in art, however, it is precisely this guarantee that is essential. That’s why we’ve created the ‘Artist of the Month’ category to give you greater peace of mind.

How is the Artist of the Month chosen?

In fact, you could say that you, our audience, choose the artist. Every month, we take a very close look at who has sold how many works and which pieces are currently in particularly high demand. The artist with the best-selling works that month is therefore named Artist of the Month. If an artist’s works are in such high demand so early on, you can be very confident that they will increase in value over time. The artist has a good chance of achieving success with these works.

Can an artist be named Artist of the Month more than once?

No, that’s not possible, for the following reason: We aim to provide you with a good overview of our most sought-after artists. After a year, there is therefore a list of 12 students who have been particularly successful. Experience shows that the artists from previous months continue to be successful. However, once you have been Artist of the Month, it is irrelevant whether you may have sold even more in the new month than the current Artist of the Month, as the aim is to select a new person. This means that by the end of the year, we have a fantastic line-up of particularly strong artists.

Should I take inspiration from the Artist of the Month if I want to invest in art?

Our gallery offers various ways to buy art. You can simply choose what you like and buy on a whim. In doing so, you support the artist behind the work and end up with a piece that enhances your home. Or perhaps you’d like to invest in art with a view to using it as an investment at some point. In that case, a good option would be to focus on particularly successful artists. Of course, you can still go by your own taste and aesthetic here – nobody wants a picture in their living room that they find absolutely dreadful. Using the ‘Artist of the Month’ filter, you can simply browse and be sure that every selected piece will be a sound investment.
