The work ‘what remains’ is part of the series ‘LUMEN – Memoria Lux’. This series explores the delicate structures of life between matter and light. Each leaf, delicately hollowed out, is charged by sunlight or another light source and reveals its inner glow in the dark. The works play with fragility, interstices and the buoyancy of the invisible. The leaf skeletons are not merely organic forms, but resonant spaces for perception, memory and inner processes. The works “Inner Glow” and “Essence” radiate calm and continuity, whilst “porous”, “drift” and “what remains” make vulnerability and the lingering effects of experiences visible. The series moves between metaphysics, therapeutic sensitivity and poetic lightness. It is an invitation to linger in the light of the invisible and to explore one’s inner self.
The photographs show the work in three different lighting conditions/times of day and in conjunction with other works from the series. The work “what remains” harmonises particularly well with “drift” and can also be purchased as a pair.
Note on the light effect: :
The luminosity of the works is temporary. After around 15 minutes of intense exposure to light (e.g. sunlight or a strong light source), the works continue to glow in the dark for approximately 30 minutes. The luminosity is at its strongest immediately after exposure and diminishes continuously over time. The afterglow phase requires direct, prior exposure to light.
The dimensions given above are those of the frame. I use old, partly restored frames for my works, so minor imperfections cannot be ruled out.

Manou Wistoff
Born in 1997 in Troisdorf, Germany. Manou Wistoff studied Art, Education and Therapy at the Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences in Alfter, near Bonn, from 2019 to 2022. She has been studying for her Master’s degree in this subject since September 2024.
Art – Technique – Consciousness
Her work focuses on aspects such as movement, light and the phenomenon of levitation. Together, these elements create artworks capable of transcending the expectations of human perception. She works in both painting and installation. It is about experiencing an invisible connection between everything that exists. Manou Wistoff pursues the desire for an evolution of consciousness that shows us how little we actually perceive and understand of reality. She frequently creates kinetic sculptures that combine technology and art. In these works, the technology recedes into the background whilst the emotionality of the experience comes to the fore. So far, only her paintings are available for sale. The paintings are often very colourful and deal with feelings and experiences that lie hidden within her. Manou Wistoff aims to demonstrate that every form of art helps us to find a connection to our inner selves, and that by reliving various emotions whilst creating art, everyone is able to process them and recognise their own potential.

She was awarded the Art Prize – Rundgang 2022 for the best artwork on the Art Education and Therapy (BA) degree programme.
