Material:
Primed, textured paper painted with oil, photogram, glue
Technique:
The photogram technique is an experimental method in which objects are exposed directly onto photographic paper without the use of a camera. This technique allows one to create unique, abstract images that depict the shape and texture of the object in a different way. The result of the photogram technique is an abstract image that depicts the shape and texture of the object in a fascinating way. In this instance, the glass is no longer recognisable, but has been transformed into a geometric pattern. The contours and surface of the glass have dissolved into a network of lines and shapes that captures the essence of the object.
The collage technique is an art form that combines different materials and qualities. The combination of the photogram and the painted paper surface creates an interesting tension between order and chaos, precision and expressiveness. The photogram introduces a precise, detailed structure into the collage, whilst the painted paper surface exhibits an expressive, dissolved structure. This combination influences the viewer by prompting them to consider both the details and the overall effect of the image.
