Die Arbeit wird aufgespannt auf dem oben beschriebenen Malkörper versendet – inklusive Echtheitszertifikat und Signatur auf der Rückseite.
Worum geht’s? Die Arbeit stammt aus dem Bilderzyklus „TUNING" - aus dem Zeitraum 2018 bis heute, wobei die reinen Farbsegmente erst seit 2021 die Oberhand im „TUNING“ Zyklus übernehmen. Es geht um eine sukzessive Entgegenständlichung und Reduzierung des Bildinhaltes, wobei Referenzen an Natur- und Menschen gemachte Phänomene in der Farbanlage findbar sein können.
Guess who’s back ist Teil einer Serie kleinformatiger Arbeiten, die grundsätzlich eine gleiche formale Kompostion eines Rechtecks aufweisen. Damit schaffe ich mir hier eine Art Vergleichsgruppe in dem die reine Fokussierung auf die verschiedenen Farbverläufe in den Vordergrund tritt und durch das Ausschalten anderer formaler Komponenten zu einer intensiveren Auseinandersetzung mit dem reinen Farbsound wird. Die Arbeit kann von fernerem Betrachtungsabstand wie eine digitale Montage im Raum wirken und offenbart erst in der nähren Ansicht die handwerkliche Herkunft. Der Pinselstrich kann teilweise noch erahnt werden. Der Titel verweist auf Popkulturelle Medienversatzstücke, die aber auch immer eine falsche Fährte sein können.
Digitale Farbwahlskalen, Flip-Flop Lacke von getunten Sportwagen, Sonnenuntergänge, Schwerindustrie, Weltraum und Spiegelungen im Kaffee können dabei in die Farbkompositionen Eingang finden.

Artist Statement
What’s it about? The works are taken from the ‘TUNING’ series – spanning the period from 2018 to the present day, although the pure colour segments have only come to dominate the ‘TUNING’ series since 2021. The focus is on a gradual abstraction and reduction of the pictorial content, whilst references to natural and man-made phenomena can be found in the colour and form compositions.
Within the seemingly equal segments, compositions of colour and form can create foregrounds and backgrounds that shift fluidly depending on the viewer’s focus. The play of light, which can be intensified by contrasting colour gradients to the point of ‘glow’, contributes to the sometimes sculptural impact of the works.
Digital colour selection scales, flip-flop paint finishes from tuned sports cars, sunsets, heavy industry, space and reflections in coffee can all find their way into the colour compositions.
