Description
Acrylic painting on canvas
Mirko Lassalle
My work consists primarily of imaginatively painted landscapes, for which I use oil, acrylic or vinyl paints. The paintings exude a certain dreamlike quality and invite the viewer to discover their inner child – that playful, creative side that remains alive even in adulthood. The paintings do not tell specific stories; rather, the viewer is invited to immerse themselves in the landscapes and go for a stroll. I regard painting as a path to inner reflection, a form of meditation. I try to visualise my inner world – my feelings, dreams and visions – and invite the viewer to join me on this journey and, in doing so, to discover themselves – through a language beyond verbal communication. Nature plays a central role in my work, as for me it symbolises inner peace and a sense of security. I believe colours have a profound emotional and spiritual effect on the viewer. They create spaces for contemplation and introspection. My aim is to use my paintings to awaken a sensitivity to things that often lie beyond words – experiences and emotions that can only be expressed through visual language. It is less about an analytical understanding of the pictures and more about allowing oneself to be moved by the motifs and experiencing a moment of contemplation.
