In the series ‘Mountains of India’ (2022–?), Neah Byson explores the mountain ranges of India. For this body of work, she has chosen the motif of mountain peaks rendered in breathtaking colours. Neah explores how the illusion of a mountain range can be created through various painterly approaches. The varied colour palette of ‘Mountains of India’ creates an atmospheric effect. The works feature areas that are more expressive and others that are calmer. Through these varying paces, Neah brings tension to the painting. The painting was created as part of a creative, spiritual experience for the artist. This so-called ‘Worship Painting’ took place during a time of worship in a church.
Neah Byson (née Mohan) is a painter and photographer. Her primary focus lies on the painterly exploration of mountain landscapes and portrait photography.
The original painting is executed in high-quality acrylic paints. The painting is stretched onto a canvas frame and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
