When I was working on this painting, it was less a planned process than an immersion in a flow of movement and colour. The broad brushstrokes are traces of gestures that arose spontaneously – an interplay of calm and impulse. For me, the cool violet brings a gentle depth, whilst the warm orange tones and the red act like sparks, bringing energy and vitality to the surface.
I wanted to create a space in which the forms unfold freely, meet and overlap – just like thoughts or feelings that do not follow a straight line, but cross paths and dance with one another. For me, this work is like a moment that is both wild and clear, a balance between movement and stillness.

. My work arises from a direct, physical engagement with the material. The gesture is central – impulsive, powerful, often spontaneous. Traces such as scratches, colour gradients, overlays and raw edges are deliberately left visible and form an integral part of the picture. The painting process is open-ended, process-oriented and follows no fixed plan. Decisions are made in the moment of movement. In the process, spaces emerge on the canvas or paper that have little to do with classical three-dimensionality. They are mental spaces between eruption and contemplation, between concentration and spontaneity. For me, imperfection is an essential part of the process – it embodies the truth of the process.
My painting
has now moved beyond the two-dimensional plane. I am increasingly working with objects and forms in space. In doing so, I apply painterly principles to other materials – colour becomes physical, movement becomes volume. This gives rise to sculptural works in which gesture, materiality and space come together in new ways.
