For me, this painting is an attempt to visualise the tension between organic traces and constructed interventions. The painterly gesture – rough, smudged, layered – carries something random and physical within it, almost as if the surface were breathing. At the same time, clear, geometric shapes and lines run through the pictorial space. They appear as an intervention from outside, as if an order were attempting to impose itself upon the disorder.
The interplay between these two poles is central to my work: the wild and the controlled, the unpredictable and the planned. The colour palette ranges from earthy, organic tones to cool, almost sharp accents of blue. This creates a kind of friction which I do not resolve, but deliberately leave in place.
When I look at the work, I feel that it functions as an in-between space – a place where opposites are allowed to coexist without cancelling each other out. For me, its power lies in this state of limbo.
The work features a white border of approximately 0.5 cm.

. My work arises from a direct, physical engagement with the material. The gesture is central – impulsive, powerful, often spontaneous. Traces such as scratches, colour gradients, overlays and raw edges are deliberately left visible and form an integral part of the picture. The painting process is open-ended, process-oriented and follows no fixed plan. Decisions are made in the moment of movement. In the process, spaces emerge on the canvas or paper that have little to do with classical three-dimensionality. They are mental spaces between eruption and contemplation, between concentration and spontaneity. For me, imperfection is an essential part of the process – it embodies the truth of the process.
My painting
has now moved beyond the two-dimensional plane. I am increasingly working with objects and forms in space. In doing so, I apply painterly principles to other materials – colour becomes physical, movement becomes volume. This gives rise to sculptural works in which gesture, materiality and space come together in new ways.
