In the Opus Compositum series, painting is transformed into a spatial event. The canvas breaks free from its surface; colour bursts forth; materials shift and extend into the space. Fragments, gestures and breaks reveal an energy that cannot be contained within two dimensions.
Each work embodies the moment of transformation – a breaking open, a detachment, an asserting of itself beyond the frame. Painting becomes a body, an action, a presence. This creates a tension between painting and sculpture, between destruction and a new beginning, between control and chance.
Opus Compositum invites the viewer not merely to look at the image, but to experience it as a dynamic process – as a work of art that engages the space just as much as it engages the viewer.

The work is shipped stretched on a stretcher frame – including a certificate of authenticity and the artist’s signature on the reverse.

. My work arises from a direct, physical engagement with the material. The gesture is central – impulsive, powerful, often spontaneous. Traces such as scratches, colour gradients, overlays and raw edges are deliberately left visible and form an integral part of the picture. The painting process is open-ended, process-oriented and follows no fixed plan. Decisions are made in the moment of movement. In the process, spaces emerge on the canvas or paper that have little to do with classical three-dimensionality. They are mental spaces between eruption and contemplation, between concentration and spontaneity. For me, imperfection is an essential part of the process – it embodies the truth of the process.
My painting
has now moved beyond the two-dimensional plane. I am increasingly working with objects and forms in space. In doing so, I apply painterly principles to other materials – colour becomes physical, movement becomes volume. This gives rise to sculptural works in which gesture, materiality and space come together in new ways.
