Description

Resilience means holding one’s ground

The tree stands alone in the landscape. Its shape has developed over a long period of time. Wind, open space and a lack of shelter have influenced the way it has grown. The trunk is slanted, and the tree’s form appears weathered. It is clear that this tree has had to adapt to its surroundings and, in doing so, has developed its own unique shape.

It does not belong to any close-knit group. Other plants are present, but at a distance. As a result, the tree appears withdrawn and yet clearly rooted in its place. It stands where it stands, visible and independent.

People, too, develop their character through experience. Stress, pressure and repeated challenges leave their mark. They change the way one thinks, acts and what one stands for. Those who follow this path often find their own standpoint. This is not always in the middle, but sometimes off to one side.

Being on the sidelines need not feel wrong. It can mean knowing one’s own place and consciously taking it. Closeness is then not sought in order to belong, but because it aligns with one’s own values. The image invites us to recognise this place of our own and to trust it.

. It was there that I discovered my love of landscape painting. In particular, during the painting excursions I regularly took part in, I developed a deep connection with nature and a passion for the diversity of colours that we often fail to notice in everyday life. I often lose myself in the many facets of nature and observe it with a discerning eye.

In my works, which are predominantly created using acrylic paint, I aim to highlight and exaggerate the variety of colours that can be discovered in nature upon close observation. In doing so, I alter the colours and consciously transform them to create unique atmospheres of colour and light. Despite these alterations, it is of great importance to me to keep

the forms true to what can be observed and to nature

. Through the manipulation of colours, I often succeed in creating mystical, dark, stormy and dynamic colour schemes. My choice of tranquil subjects, such as solitary trees or distant cloudscapes, harmonises perfectly with a dynamic choice and application of colour. As a result, my landscapes are both serene and dynamic and wild. They are characterised by contrasts between light and dark, between gloom and vibrant colours.

Through my unique colour and light atmospheres, my distortions of reality and my constant artistic development, I set myself apart from other landscape painters. My works offer the viewer a special artistic experience, immersing them in a world full of unique moods and sensations.
