Much like ‘Nachtgesang’, ‘Fragmente’ is about the moon, our eternal companion, and the multitude of emotions that humanity associates with it. Those who look up at the moon at night may associate it with hope or sorrow. I therefore do not wish to dictate what emotions I associate with this painting, but rather to leave that space for each viewer to interpret for themselves.

My influences can be found in the literature of my childhood, as well as in science fiction and mythological tales. I am also inspired by the painters of the Romantic and Symbolist movements.
In my work, I use acrylics and oils, as well as a range of painting styles, from the more detailed to impasto. I enjoy working on wood or canvas panels, as they provide a stable surface.
