About the work:
Red, green, blue and copper-coloured structures emerge from a dark green surface. In the top left-hand corner of the picture, the canvas becomes progressively thicker and the material denser and more concentrated. Viewed from the side in particular, it is clear that the canvas is spilling over the edge at one corner. The work thus straddles the boundary between painting and sculpture. The work ‘Garden’ is part of a series exploring oases of tranquillity in nature. Where can we leave the stresses of everyday city life behind? How does nature shape our sensory experiences? I explore these questions in the series, and likewise in this work, which is an ode to the beauty and tranquillity of gardens.
Delivery: The work will be shipped stretched on a stretcher frame – including a certificate of authenticity and the artist’s signature on the reverse.
