In my work *Sand & Concrete*, I explore the relationship between space, geometries and levels of perception. Clear architectural structures merge with abstracted forms, whilst delicate details and experimental areas of colour create a tension between rigour and poetic spaces for thought.
The title refers to the materiality of buildings and indirectly addresses Brutalism, a theme I repeatedly engage with in both my photography and my painting.
The subtle colour palette and vibrant texture invite the viewer to mentally enter the pictorial space and discover new perspectives.
For this work, I used acrylic, Glutolin and charcoal on canvas.
Architectural representations run like a common thread through my work and continually inspire me to create new interpretations.

Zoë Katharina Haupts
Recurring themes in her artistic practice include architectural elements and a play on levels of perception. The abstraction of organic subjects such as cacti and carnivorous plants, as well as experiments with geometric forms, are also an integral part of her work.
Her projects explore the diversity of worldviews, the Anthropocene and the complex relationships between human and non-human actors. In doing so, she moves between constructivist approaches and relational theories in order to discover new perspectives on the reality of everyday life.
Her preferred media are analogue and digital photography, painting and drawing.
