The works in the “Dreams” series are inspired by the artist’s own dreams. She has been exploring this theme for several years and keeps a dream diary in which she regularly records her dreams and captures the images she sees in them. The next morning, she sketches these images straight away and then translates them into paintings as soon as possible.
The artist’s creative process consists of a constant interplay between her night-time dreams and the development of her art during the day. These two phases influence one another. Put simply: she dreams of painting and then paints her dreams.
The concept behind the work is that it should be hung directly on the wall as an unstretched canvas. This is best done by using nails at the edge of the work.
The work is rolled up and shipped unstretched.
