An almost monochrome surface is paired with the handwritten statement: ‘Art is beautiful, but it’s a lot of work.’ Between apparent ease and the actual effort involved, a tongue-in-cheek perspective on the creation of art emerges.

The artwork is shipped stretched on a stretcher frame – complete with a certificate of authenticity and a signature on the reverse.

In my artistic work, I explore the question of what really matters in life. Amidst consumerism, external influences and societal images, what stands out for me are human emotions – love, intimacy and vulnerability.
My works are created intuitively. Colour, movement and deliberate breaks reflect inner tensions and reveal what often remains hidden. In this process, raw, expressive elements meet personal themes and create spaces in which viewers can recognise themselves.
For me, art is a place where emotion and expression take precedence over perfection.
