No artificially created stimulus captures attention quite as immediately as a glowing sky.
The picture captures that brief moment in the evening when the sun is already low in the sky and the sky suddenly begins to glow. The colours seem almost overwhelming with light and atmosphere. Pink, orange and violet spread simultaneously across the sky and the water, as if the whole evening were, for a few minutes, becoming more intense than the reality that preceded it. It feels like one of those rare moments when you’re standing outside, looking up, and suddenly forget everything else because the world looks simply incredible. The sky seems dynamic, alive and emotionally charged. Not observed calmly, but experienced directly. It is precisely this sense of wonder and this emotional sweep that make the moment so powerful that I wanted to capture it.
In moments like these, I suddenly feel once more just how intense the world can seem. For a brief instant, I stop thinking, stop planning my next move. I am completely in the moment, letting myself be swept away by the light, the colour and the atmosphere. It is precisely this feeling that fascinates me – the way a sky can push everything else into the background for a few minutes.
At the same time, we live in an environment that is constantly trying to capture our emotional attention. Everything competes for our gaze, our reaction, our interest.
And much of it is artificially created and deliberately designed to trigger emotions within us. Yet often, a glowing sky is enough to make everything else suddenly seem unimportant. No artificially created stimulus attracts attention as immediately as an intense sky.
Perhaps such moments have such a powerful effect precisely because they do not force our attention. They simply captivate us and bring us back to the real world for a moment.
Material / Technique:
Acrylic on canvas in a shadow-joint frame. The landscape is painted with high-quality acrylic paints. The original painting is sealed with a Lascaux varnish featuring UV protection and is signed on the front and back.
Frame:
The shadow-joint frame is included with purchase. This frame does not contain a glass pane. The painting is screwed into the frame at the back. The distinctive feature of a shadow-joint frame is the visible joint between the stretcher and the outer frame: this draws the viewer’s attention to the subject. The solid wood shadow gap frame is painted black, so that the wood grain remains visible. There is a sawtooth hanger on the back.
Shipping:
The artwork is shipped stretched onto a stretcher frame – including a certificate of authenticity, the frame and the artist’s signature on the front and back.

Regensburg. It was there that I discovered my love of landscape painting. In particular, during the painting excursions I regularly took part in, I developed a deep connection with nature and a passion for the diversity of colours that we often fail to notice in everyday life. I often lose myself in the many facets of nature and observe it with a discerning eye.
In my works, which are predominantly created using acrylic paint, I aim to highlight and exaggerate the variety of colours that can be discovered in nature upon close observation. In doing so, I alter the colours and consciously transform them to create unique atmospheres of colour and light. Despite these alterations, it is of great importance to me to keep
the forms true to what can be observed and to nature
. Through the manipulation of colours, I often succeed in creating mystical, dark, stormy and dynamic colour schemes. My choice of tranquil subjects, such as solitary trees or distant cloudscapes, harmonises perfectly with a dynamic choice and application of colour. As a result, my landscapes are both serene and dynamic and wild. They are characterised by contrasts between light and dark, between gloom and vibrant colours.
Through my unique colour and light atmospheres, my distortions of reality and my constant artistic development, I set myself apart from other landscape painters. My works offer the viewer a special artistic experience, immersing them in a world full of unique moods and sensations.
