The artwork will be shipped stretched on a stretcher frame – including a certificate of authenticity and the artist’s signature on the reverse.
This work is intended to convey the feeling and tranquillity one experiences deep in the forest. Where the only traces of human intervention are stone artefacts, already overgrown with moss once more.
For me, it also marks my first foray into applying oil paint in a more direct manner.

My influences can be found in the literature of my childhood, as well as in science fiction and mythological tales. I am also inspired by the painters of the Romantic and Symbolist movements.
In my work, I use acrylics and oils, as well as a range of painting styles, from the more detailed to impasto. I enjoy working on wood or canvas panels, as they provide a stable surface.
Tom Peter is studying at HAW Hamburg in Christian Hahn’s painting course.
