A large-scale painting of skin, which has already been exhibited on several occasions as part of various exhibitions. Distinct forms, the curves of the body and an intense, abstract-realistic colour palette lend the painting its splendour. I like to describe the colour scheme as abstract-realistic, as the colours themselves are chosen abstractly and would be far too vivid for a realistic painting; yet, when viewed as a whole, their interplay creates a realistic impression. “Skin” was inspired by one of my video works, in which I filmed my body with a camera. My painting is therefore a larger-than-life section of my own body.

I’m an art student from Kiel, though I actually grew up in idyllic Lübeck, and have been studying art to become a teacher in the interdisciplinary class taught by Prof. Dr Almut Linde at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts since October 2020. I’ve been painting with my favourite medium – oil paint – since I was 14. Starting out with portrait painting, over the years I’ve developed the distinctive colour palette that characterises my paintings; the magic that can arise between colours when used correctly continues to fascinate me to this day and motivates me to keep going.
I have already had the opportunity to exhibit my work in a number of exhibitions and am extremely grateful for any further opportunities :)
