In this skin painting, curves and round, organic forms are the focus of the work. The colours nestle around the curves and highlight them, creating an interesting interplay through the contrast between warm and cool tones. The thicker frame allows the painting to stand out elegantly against the background. In early 2023, the painting was exhibited as part of an art exhibition in Kiel. My skin paintings are always created as representations of real photographs of a body in my possession or through video recordings of my own body.Â
Lisa Sophie Langhans
I’m an art student from Kiel, though I actually grew up in idyllic Lübeck, and have been studying art to become a teacher in the interdisciplinary class taught by Prof. Dr Almut Linde at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts since October 2020. I’ve been painting with my favourite medium – oil paint – since I was 14. Starting out with portrait painting, over the years I’ve developed the distinctive colour palette that characterises my paintings; the magic that can arise between colours when used correctly continues to fascinate me to this day and motivates me to keep going.
I have already had the opportunity to exhibit my work in a number of exhibitions and am extremely grateful for any further opportunities :)
