This screen print emerged from a series of interpretations of schematic depictions of babies. I developed the form of the baby in relation to the sensation of being unborn.
The cable represents the connection to the outside world; the foetus can hear what is happening outside the womb from a very early stage. It also resembles the umbilical cord, the link to nourishment and the mother.
The halo symbolises the purity and wonder of conception, birth and creation.
