The atmospheric depiction of this Upper Bavarian lake is created through the swift brushstrokes of the watercolour pencil and the watercolours that blend softly into one another. The lakeside landscape and a tree are highly abstracted; the colours are partly opaque (burnt sienna) and partly translucent (ochre). The granular quality of the ultramarine pigment emphasises the way the light reflects off the water.
The painting was created on site by the lake in December 2025.

– Shapes – Lines: For me, painting and drawing are an important and fulfilling means of expression. I find it a wonderful experience to bring pure pigments, combined with various binders, to life as a composition on canvas. My experience in drawing from my background in landscape architecture often finds its way into my work as graphic elements.
