Inspired by a quick watercolour sketch by the pond, I capture the atmosphere on canvas using rough shapes. Wax-based watercolour pencils and a quick application of acrylic paint create a sketchy effect without depicting any details. The calm water is darkest near the shore and reflects the vegetation and light in high contrast.

– Shapes – Lines: For me, painting and drawing are an important and fulfilling means of expression. I find it a wonderful experience to bring pure pigments, combined with various binders, to life as a composition on canvas. My experience in drawing from my background in landscape architecture often finds its way into my work as graphic elements.
From 2004 onwards, further training in painting with, amongst others, Alex Bär, Marika Wille-Jais, Sylvia Roubaud and Gerhard Marquard; life drawing with Ruth Effer
