QIANQIAN LI is studying art at Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences in Bonn
. Born in Qingdao, China, she now lives in Bonn and is studying for a Master’s degree in Fine Art at Alanus University. Since 2023, she has been studying for a Master’s degree in Fine Art in Andreas Orosz’s painting class. She is due to complete her Master’s degree in 2024.

Judit Flamich was born in Hungary in 1999. She currently lives in Vienna and is studying for an MA in Art History at the University of Vienna, as well as Conservation and Restoration at the University of Applied Arts under Prof. Gabriela Krist. She regularly exhibits internationally. As an ever-evolving experimental artist, her style plays with a blend of several artistic movements. Plein air, along with traces of Symbolism and Impressionism, and hints of Surrealism or Expressionism, are recurring fragments of the dream world she creates on canvas.

Like so many others, I’d always dreamt of becoming an artist. To make a living from my own creative work and, in doing so, make the world a little more colourful and beautiful in my own way. It took several years, with all their ups and downs, before the time came and I could finally pursue my childhood dream.

Specialism: Abstract Painting with Dominik Halmer
I have been working intensively on canvas for four years and am dedicated to my individual artistic development. I focus intensely on abstraction and the alienation of figurative elements in my works. I often work without a pre-determined composition, allowing the piece to take shape with every subsequent stroke. Experimentation is an essential part of my working method. There is always something new to discover in my work.

Information about the works: My visual motifs usually originate at university during a lecture. It is important to me not to develop motifs from an artistic context, but rather to view them within the context of another academic discipline and then consider how I can visualise or embody them. As soon as I have a rough idea, I start painting. The results are therefore usually based on themes from cultural studies or English linguistics.

The Art Student of the Month is selected on the basis of various factors. This feature recognises the artist who has generated the most sales during the month in question. We also take factors such as reliability, professionalism and communication into account when making our selection. In this way, we aim to recognise outstanding collaboration in particular. As this award is only given once, it does not imply that the artist was any less impressive in other months.
